Another story of soccer mayhem, this time in the middle east, where at least 70 people have been killed in an Egypt soccer riot. The two competing teams – Al Masry and Al-Ahly – have bad blood between them. This time, Al-Masry won the match with a score of 3-1.
After the end of the game, al-Masry fans jumped onto the field, and things soon got out of hand. It was said that other fans threw bottles and stones at the opposing team. In the video below, you can even see fireworks being shot off:
The game occurred at Port Said, an Egyptian city on the Mediterranean coast. Some of the dead included security. The Egypt soccer riot caused another game to be called off at Cairo Stadium – fans were not happy about the cancellation and set some areas of the Cairo stadium on fire.
Casualties of the Egypt soccer riot originally started at 40 but now are reported to be at least 70 people.
