What to do with the alarming air pollutants indoors? Use AirNotis!

posted by Chris Valentine

Those who have 9 to 5 jobs are forced to spend most of their time indoors. Traveling door-to-door from home to work, many people spend more than 20 hours a day indoors.

If you are applicable to the above, here’s a question for you that may have never crossed your mind before. Do you know how clean the air is indoors? We worry about breathing fine dust when going outside, and even wear a mask as a preventative measure. Although we spend most of our time indoors, we rarely think about the purity of indoor air or how to manage harmful substances inside.

In fact, air pollutants can also accumulate indoors and cause harm to the human body if not ventilated often. There are several factors that regularly pollute indoor air, and you’ll be surprised at how ordinary these are. A simple activity of breathing, such as exhaling, can increase the carbon dioxide concentration inside. Also, various volatile organic compounds gradually leak from our surroundings over time—like wallpaper, furniture, or paint.

Oxygen decreases with the increase of harmful substances in the air, causing symptoms of headache and drowsiness. Impure air indoors in general exposes you to the risks of infection from various bacteria or viruses.

The air we breathe is always important, whether we’re inside or outside, and must be managed regularly for the sake of our health.

Check all air components —from temperature, humidity to harmful substances — with AirNotis!

Recently on Kickstarter, a new air quality monitor called AirNotis, has been launched and is making a huge impression. AirNotis is capable of measuring six types of air quality at once: CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), Fine dust, VOC (volatile organic compounds), Temperature, Humidity.

When CO2 concentration exceeds 1,500 ppm, an alarm is triggered from the monitor to notify a timing for ventilation. Ventilating at the right time is essential because it will help increase concentration and stop drowsiness resulting from impure air. An alarm will also be triggered when CO leaks above 100 ppm to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning, which can lead to a deadly accident.

Furthermore, AirNotis measures fine dust indoors by three types — PM 10, 2.5, 1.0—to help ventilate the room as necessary and notifies to wear a mask when going outside depending on the quality of outdoor air.

This versatile monitor is capable of measuring and notifying on VOC too. It displays VOC in the air by five levels, which can leak from household products such as wallpaper, furniture, and paint, and alerts for ventilation when the VOC concentration exceeds 600 ppb. In addition, keep your surroundings comfortable and pleasant by checking the temperature and humidity of the room.

AirNotis can be linked with the mobile app so the users can check air quality anywhere, even if they are away from the device.

Portable and pocket-size, this mini device can be freely placed anywhere and will not spoil the scenery at your home or office. You can easily recognize each air quality type by different font sizes determined by the importance.

AirNotis is now available on Kickstarter! If you wish to lead a healthy lifestyle with cleaner air, now is the time to choose AirNotis.
