This amazing landscape is located in the Dandenong Ranges which are only one hour outside the city of Melbourne. William Ricketts created a range of amazing clay sculptures which pay tribute to Aboriginal life. The creations are backed by a sea of pine trees and ferns. The sanctuary is a beautiful and tranquil place to visit.
Walk the Giant Stairway
If you have the energy, the giant stairway at Katoomba is certainly worth climbing. There are 800 stairs to climb, which lead to an elevation of 1,000 feet. The views from the top are spectacular. The good news is that you also have the option of a steep train ride to the top. Be prepared for this to be a little daunting on the way down, if you do not like heights.
