As all women know, menstruation is never easy to go through. Hormonal changes have many effects on the female body.  Between the physical and psychological manifestations, each woman experiences her period differently.

While in the vast majority of cases, your period is painful and uncomfortable, it also gives you an opportunity to take care of yourself.

Because getting your period is most of the time complicated, here are a few tips to help you get through this phase better.

Make the right choice of protection

One of the most important things to get through your period better is to choose good sanitary protection. Today there are many options for personal hygiene. For example, you have the choice between pads, menstrual cups or tampons.

You can also can make the choice of the best menstrual underwear. These are washable, reusable and comfortable. Period panties are a modern, eco-friendly option for intimate protection.

No matter what type of protection you choose, consider changing it every four to six hours.

Take care of your privacy

It may be a good idea to take special care with your personal hygiene during your period.  For this, you can for example wash yourself with a soft intimate gel. Do this about twice a day to respect the balance of your intimate hygiene.

Too frequent washing is dangerous for the intimate flora. You should know that the vagina has self-cleaning properties, which protects it against bacteria. For this reason, it is not necessary to wash yourself too frequently with the intimate gel, even during this period.

Another way to take care of your privacy is to wear cotton underwear. These are comfortable and present less risk of allergies.

Eat healthy

Diet plays an essential role during menstruation. The body is strained, often weakened, and for this you need to eat healthy. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as foods rich in iron.

Iron is important during this time to compensate for the loss of blood. You can for example eat lentils, beans or red meat. Seeds rich in magnesium, such as cashews or almonds, are excellent for cramps.

Listen to your body

Periods are an integral part of women’s lives. Even if they are difficult to live with for the majority of them, they also represent femininity. Living well with your period also means living well with your femininity.

The best way to take care of yourself during this time is to relax as much as possible. Listen to your body and make your life as easy as possible.
