There are only a handful of video games that manages to capture the imagination of millions of players across the globe. One such game franchise comes from Gearbox Software. First introduced in 2009, Borderlands quickly became a synonym of co-op looter-shooter genre. A few months back the developers announced that they’ll be releasing another series’ entry titled Borderlands 3. The game is set to be released on September 13th, 2019. With it, every bit of content in the game is getting a big makeover – Borderlands 3 characters, guns, missions, and so much more.
One of the most iconic features of the Borderlands series is its characters (also known as Vault Hunters). With every new addition, the game introduced a roster of unique player-controlled protagonists that accommodates various play styles. Borderlands 3 is no exception. Below you can find detailed information regarding Borderlands 3 characters, their abilities and what players can expect gameplay-wise. Let’s begin…
Moze the Gunner
Moze the Gunner represents a gunner class in Borderlands 3. She will have three skill trees: Demolition Woman, Bottomless Mags, and Shield of Retribution. Moze’s main ability is her mech-suit called Iron Bear which will get different weapons in different skill trees. It’s worth mentioning that Iron Bear makes Moze way more mobile than the previous Borderlands gunners who had to play around their stationary turrets. It’s also worth mentioning Moze’s Iron Bear’s ability that enables other teammates to use the turret mounted at its head. This makes Moze one of the best Borderlands 3 characters for players who want to play in co-op mode with a friend.
Amara the Siren
Sirens is a mysterious woman group featured in almost all Borderlands games. Borderlands 3 won’t be any exceptions as Amara takes up the mantle of Sirens. Unlike her predecessors Lillith and Maya, Amara will be more melee-focused character and her main ability emphasizes just that. Amara will be able to summon multiple ethereal arms that can punch bad guys like nothing else. Her three skill tree branches – Brawl, Mystical Assault, and Fist of the Elements – afford her three different action skills, over a dozen ways to fine-tune them, and dozens of passive bonuses. So if you’re looking at our Borderlands 3 characters list and trying to figure out which of the bunch is most suitable for brawling-style combat, Amara should be your first pick.
Zane the Operative
If you liked Zero from Borderlands 2, you should lock your sights at Zane the Operative. Both of these characters share the same fighting technique using illusions and decoys in order to gain an advantage on the battlefield. Zane will have three distinct skill trees: Under Cover, Hitman, and Doubled Agent. As its skill tree names suggest, Zane will be equipped with a variety of tools helping him to create chaos and sneaking back out of dangerous situations as if he were never there. If you have friends who already picking other Borderlands 3 characters, Zane will be a great addition to any team composition.
FL4K the Beastmaster
As stated in its name, FL4K will be the hunter counterpart of Borderlands 3. While it’s three skill trees are not yet revealed, we still know a few things about this character. As you might’ve guessed FL4K will have an ability to command its own pets. FL4K will be able to pick between a few different beasts, each with their own unique abilities and skills. However, we still don’t know how players will be able to acquire these pets but it’s safe to assume that you’ll be able to have at least a few. So, if you’re an animal lover and don’t mind having a mutated wasteland doggy by your side, FL4K the Beastmaster should be your go-to Borderlands 3 character.
