Crucifix Cures Cancer Of Man’s Wife But Takes His Leg

David Jimenez, a religious man who prayed at the foot of a crucifix for months so that his wife would be cured of her cancer, finally had his prayers answered. Unfortunately, the heavy crucifix fell on him one day and crushed his leg, which had to be amputated.

Because of Jimenez’s devotion to the cross, he was allowed by the Church of St. Patrick to clean it. But due to improper support, the 600 pound statue came loose and fell on him.

As the CBS story states, there is a tragic irony in losing your leg to a crucifix you pray to. Jimenez is currently suing for damages.
