Investigators are trying to figure out how two aspiring reality TV stars (and married couple) were able to penetrate multiple layers of White House security to crash President Obama’s first state dinner.

Tareq Salahi and his wife Michaele Salahi said on their Facebook page that they were “honored to be at the White House for the state dinner in honor of India with President Obama and our First Lady!” Wearing a black dinner jacket and a flowing red and gold sari, the Salahis posted photos posing with Vice President Joe Biden, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and three marines in uniform.

Apparently, a security checkpoint failed to follow proper procedure to make sure the couple was on the guest list.

Tareq and Michaele Salahi — polo-playing socialites known for a bitter family feud over a Fauquier County winery and their possible roles in the forthcoming “The Real Housewives of Washington” — were seen arriving at the White House and later posted on Facebook photos of themselves with VIPs at the elite gathering

The Oasis Winery that they founded in Virginia, which was fairly successful at one time and even won some awards, eventually ceased operations. It was said that after Tareq was made general manager, they started losing money.

Other facts about the Salahis:

• Michaele Salahi is one of the featured housewives on Bravo’s upcoming The Real Housewives of DC.
• Claims to be a former model and Washington Redskins cheerleader
• Maybe she’s not a Redskins cheerleader. The Redskins never heard of her
• She may not have been an official model, either
• She and hubby Tareq have been accused of running a bogus charity, called “Journey for a Cure”
• The Salahis have had numerous fights with their neighbors, stemming from the expansion of the winery and disputes over live music
• The Salahis are reported to be embroiled in as many as 15 civil suits
• Hubby plays polo alot.
