In The Beginning There Was Jack

In The Beginning There Was Jack

In the beginning there was Jack … and Jack had a groove
And from this groove came the grooves of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box,
Jack boldly declared “Let There Be House” and House music was born.
“I am you see, I am the creator and this is my house
And in my house there is only House Music.
But I am not so selfish because once you enter my house
it then becomes our house and our House Music.
And, you see, no one man owns house
because House Music is a universal language spoken and understood by all.
You see, House is a feeling that no one can understand
really unless you’re deep into the vibe of House.
House is an uncontrollable desire to Jack your body.
And as I told you before this is our House and our House Music.
And every House you understand there is a keeper.
And in this house the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you might wonder who is Jack and what is it that Jack does.
Jack is the one who gives you the power to Jack your body!
Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake!
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm!
Jack is the one who learns you how to whop your body!
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house!
You may be black, you may be white, you may be Jew or Gentile.
It don’t make a difference in our house. And this is fresh!”

  15. “House Music is something we all can hear, but only the sensitive can feel it “

  16. House Music is ultimate!!

  17. The way popular music is heading today, I would not be surprised to see this speech re-popularized by 2015. But that’s just me an my hopes and dreams, of course. Most people walking in the street have never even heard of people like Danny Howells or Frankie Knuckles. If everyone knows Elvis, why cant they remember our generation?

  18. Having reviewed carefully the previous eighteen contributions, I am in a position to say the following:

Well, that’s all fine and dandy, but we still require an explanation of the “Wiggly Worm”. – The people demand to know!

  19. This reminds me of another song from back in the day…
Trying to find out who sung it.
Started out with “Can you feel it”
Then female vocal ” let the music take control”
“only your love can take me away”
“Can you feel, it in your soul, its starting to take control. Let it move, let it inside, let the music take control…
    Any ideas?

  23. <3 <3 <3 May house music live forever!

  24. And i was born.iam house, come to my house and become our house

  25. I drop this as an acapella all the time!!

  26. Hahaha listen to house for long enough and when u cannot, not move, u will understand

  27. Well folks, it has been one year since I was here last, and still my question has not been answered.

Persistence is a virtue, apparently, hence I ask again:

What is the “Wiggly Worm”? – The people demand to know! – Will there be an answer this time, or will I have to ask again in another year’s time?

  28. Facety, I was under the impression that the “wiggly worm” is some sort of dance move.

  29. Hi Bill! – Thanks for responding: I have the same suspicion as you.
Chuck Roberts mentions three other dances in the same segment, namely; the snake, the wop and jacking.
But the wiggly worm is something I’ve never knowingly seen before.
Maybe someone who’s seen it or done it can describe what it looks like.

  31. I fucking hate this stupid sample.

  32. In fact, experts say it is children who will benefit from the minimalist shoe trend even more than adult runners.
