How to Find The Perfect Airsoft Clothing

posted by Chris Valentine

If you’re thinking of taking up airsoft, but you’re feeling a bit unsure about the type of clothing gear you should invest your money in, this article is written for you. Hundreds of thousands of people engage in airsoft every year, both in the United States and all over the world. It’s an exciting sport, but using protective equipment is crucial both for your safety and that of other players.

Without further ado, here are some essentials you might need to invest in if you’re looking to take up airsoft.

Head, eye, and face protection

One thing’s for use. The velocity at which BBs are capable of traveling can be downright dangerous for some parts of your body, and your eyes are particularly vulnerable. Goggles are highly recommended to protect your sight, and many of the models up for sale these days are comfortable to wear for hours on end.

As for face protection, it can come in many forms and types. You can use bandanas, but also bits of material or fabric you might have in your home. Neoprene, mesh, and plastic are to be preferred because they can keep you protected effectively.

Helmets for airsoft can be made from several types of materials. Some are heftier than others, but that usually means that they are thicker and they can keep you safe a little better compared to their light counterparts. Typically, good helmets cost at least forty to fifty dollars, so don’t cheap one just because you can’t afford something better — this is your health and safety you’re toying with.

Boots and gloves

Tactical or combat boots are best when it comes to airsoft, and that’s because they are rugged and resilient and can put up with a lot of abuse. They can withstand the test of time, but durability isn’t all that important compared to how they can ensure that they keep you comfortable. Choose the right size depending on your physical attributes, because you’ll do a lot of running and climbing in them.

Gloves are important for pretty much the same reason you need goggles. Your hands can be hurt by a lot of things from the environment ranging from bushes to splinters and trees, but flying BBs can also rough them up a bit. While they do have to be as comfortable as possible, they also have to match your weapon system so that they don’t hinder your moves and affect your performance in the field.

Your uniform

There are several ways of going about things when it comes to the actual clothing you’ll wear while playing airsoft. One of them is to invest in a military uniform, in which case you’re pretty much covered. It’s just that the uniform has to come with a long-sleeved shirt and long pants.

Keeping your body fully covered is essential, and the right apparel can mean a lot in the way of protecting you from the sting inflicted by flying BBs but also scrapes from thorn bushes or tree limbs. Let’s not forget about poison ivy and oak — you want to avoid these two as much as you can.
