Anura Leslie Perera Urges More Companies to Engage in Corporate Philanthropy

posted by Chris Valentine

A successful businessman, Anura Leslie Perera is also a realist. He fully understands that corporations exist to make profits. However, he also believes that many corporations actually can afford to be more generous and engage in corporate philanthropy. This does not need to be fully altruistic. Indeed, engaging in corporate philanthropy could provide additional benefits to any corporation by getting corporate tax cuts, improving the company’s reputation and fostering a kinder, more generous general atmosphere in the office. Additionally, seeing how other people could blossom and become self-sufficient could actually be seen as another benefit. Anura Leslie Perera also likes to stress the point that corporations do not always have to donate cash to help others. Indeed, many charity organizations would not refuse volunteers who can spare just a little of their free time.
