Psycho Astronaut Lisa Nowak Sentenced

Hard to believe that the Lisa Nowak / Colleen Shipman story is almost 3 years old. But it’s just been learned that Lisa Nowak finally received a sentence.

Central Florida News 13 has the story:

Nowak pleaded guilty to burglary and a misdemeanor battery charge, and then she apologized to Colleen Shipman – the woman she is accused of attacking three years ago. She was sentenced to one-year of probation. Her sentence included credit for the two days she served in the Orange County jail, and she was ordered not to have contact of any kind with Colleen Shipman or Bill Oefelein, a former astronaut. She will also serve 50 hours of community service and take an 8-hour anger management class.

Shipman said: “I believe 100 percent that Lisa Nowak came here to murder me. Lisa Nowak hunted me down and attacked me in a dark parking lot. I knew in my heart that when Lisa Nowak attacked me, that she was going to kill me. It was in her eyes, a blood-chilling expression of limitless rage and glee.”

Talk about spicing it up.

As for the guy Nowak was jealous over? Yeah, he and Shipman are getting married:

Former astronaut Bill Oefelein and aviator Colleen Shipman are planning a summer 2010 wedding in Pennsylvania, an announcement in the Anchorage Daily News said. The couple lives in Alaska, where Oefelein is from.

They also run a web site called adventurewrite.com. According to the web site bio for Colleen Shipman, she “seems to fall down a lot, but is otherwise pretty good in a crisis. ?She’s got an uncanny knack for attracting the nearest predicament, and not so gracefully escaping it. ?Fortunately for us, it makes for some pretty humorous reading. She’s deathly afraid of zombies and is, of course, a die-hard Steelers fan.”
