Police released a 29-year-old female teacher on bail after charging her with having sex with a 13-year-old schoolboy. Police of the Children, Juveniles and Women Division, released Thanawan (surname withheld), an English-language teacher of a well-known school in Yannawa district of Bangkok one day after her arrest. Her bail was set at 200,000 baht. She was reported to have told police she could not resist the boy’s repeated requests for sexual contact during their private tuition hours in her room. Sex with a minor aged under 15, regardless of whether the act is consensual, is a legal violation.
