Teachers Gone Wild: Michigan Boat Party Starring Melissa Lavender

The Hot-For-Teacher phenomenon continues, this time in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, as 33 year old culinary arts teacher Melissa Lavender is accused of engaging in sex acts with two of her male students while at an alleged party on a boat that was docked at Nine Mile Road and Jefferson in St. Clair Shores. The two male students are 16 and 17.
Last month, the South Lake High School teacher was arraigned on two charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. 40th District Court Judge Joseph Oster released Lavender on a $25,000 personal bond with several conditions. Lavender is forbidden to have contact with unrelated minors unless under supervision, she is unable to enter South Lake High School and she must undergo random Breathalyzer testing three to four times a day with an alcohol-detecting tether. Assistant Prosecutor Kathy Beard asked Oster to keep the tether in place in light of the fact that alcohol played a part in the alleged incident.

Go ahead - ask the culinary arts teacher for some sugar!
Lavender’s attorney said she has been suspended from teaching at the high school. Lavender has taught at the high school for six years and is married with two children.
The preliminary examination for Lavender has been set for Oct. 10. If the preliminary exam proceeds as planned, the prosecution would bring in witnesses to testify that a crime did take place and that Lavender committed a crime. If convicted, Lavender could spend up to two years behind bars.
