Code Pink Member Alicia Forrest was arrested at a DNC Protest

A policeman slammed a Code Pink protester to the ground, calling her a “bitch” after she appeared to taunt him. This went down at a protest outside the Democratic National Convention, which is going on this week. Later as she was talking, she was arrested. The girl has been identified as Alicia Forrest, 24.

This kind of stuff divides a lot of people, like Hillary Clinton. There’s the police brutality side (which I agree with) and then there’s the “well she shouldn’t have taunted the police/she’s stupid” side (which I agree with).

There’s also a third side: hey, she got her scars - now she can wear that shit like a badge of honor. In fact, I would suggest to all protesters out there that getting a beatdown by police is like your own gang initiation. You shouldn’t be taken seriously as a protester, rebel, or anarchist unless you have baton markings about the face to prove it. So I say to the Pink girl: be proud of that arrest record! Put it on the resume!

Code pink just posted this press release:

CODEPINK member Alicia Forrest, 24, arrested yesterday on her way to a rally here during the Democratic convention, was released from Denver City Jail at 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Near 12 p.m. Tuesday, moments before the beginning of a demonstrator’s march here during the Democratic National Convention, officer Scott Stewart of the Denver police noticed Forrest taking photos of another man being arrested when he shoved Forrest to the ground with a raised baton then left her on the ground in pain for several minutes. When she began answering questions to reporters nearby, Stewart pulled her roughly away by the elbows and arrested her on charges of interference.

Greg Campbell, a Denver police sergeant of internal affairs, told Forrest the officer who struck Forrest had been pulled from the line and can no longer interact with demonstrators.

CODEPINK co-founder Jodie Evans said “How is it that a Denver cop would be afraid of a peace activist with a pink crown on her head? What have we become?”

Code Pink: Women for Peace is an anti-war group that started in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq. They describe themselves as a “grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect our resources into health care, education and other life-affirming activities.”

They are mostly led by chicks and conduct marches, protests, and publicity stunts. They also wear lots and lots of pink.

They hit the big leagues when Bush mentioned them alongside MoveOn.org. (You can’t ask for better press).

I saw this in person. ANYONE who says this woman deserved it is absolutely insane, she did not taunt, provoke, or deserve this treatment at all. she asked a question (why someone had been arrested), and the answer was violence. I am not a protester, I know nothing about this group or this girl, I simply live here and saw it as I was walking by, it was horrifying.

so who owns the COPS tough guy?

    the corporations?
    or the People?

are we supposed to suspend our civil rights so some jock or dweeb from high school who wasn’t ‘quite adjusted’ to a World beyond, “might makes right” has a chance to knock you around for kicks?

or how about attractive young women in pink tutus? are they so awe-staggeringly horrifying to a mature, emotionally stable COMMUNITY PEACE OFFICER in SWAT GEAR that he’s gotta put a whoopdown on her?

See, I ascribe to the notion that civil rights applies to everyone. & that showing up wearing riot gear & weapons to ‘confront’ people who are exercising their human & civil rights?? that’s not democratic, is it?

so I ask you… are the cops just getting their ya-ya’s out? maybe they’re scared? maybe they’re just wound up from putting on their game face? maybe the act of putting on ARMOUR & WEAPONS puts them in the frame of mind to assume when they’re wound up that they’re perpetually under threat?

maybe they just like hitting pretty young girls in pink tutus?
maybe they just don’t have proper training to deal with community CIVIL situations that should be & could be handled with respect & mutual regard.

It happens in other countries, you know.
& when it gets like this? then it starts looking little different than the way a banana republic was trained by WHINSEC.

    Taser Code Pink First…

The last photo is Medea Benjamin, author of “CUBA: Talking About Revolution” and Code Pink Founder.

Code Pink contributed $665,000 in material aid for the jihadists in fallujah when that battle was raging and the jihadists were killing American troops. They still raise money for the jihadist, but the city is now Nineavh.

Code Pink will say that they raised humanitarian aid, but that is a lie. These same people were CAUGHT doing the same thing in the 80’s in Central America, raising money for the bad guys.

Just like Sami Al-Arian raised money for terrorists and called it charity, Code Pink hides behind causes that appeal to peace loving and compassionate people. They themselves are not peace loving and compassionate, and take advantage of people’s good will.

I have no use at all for Code Pink. Zero. Zip. and Nada.

On the other hand, when it becomes illegal for anyone to take a picture of anyone or of anything, including a cop, in a public setting, you effectively have no more Constitutional rights or any other legal protections.

Besides. At present, it is NOT against the law to take pictures of cops in public settings.

When we ignore the rights of those we disagree with, we have none of our own.

Remember: Cops, politicians and bureaucrats serve us, not we, them. When they become our masters, we are no longer free.
