With the recent disclosure of perjury charges against Kwame Kilpatrick, the infamous mayor of the city of Detroit, we at Odd Culture would like to point you to the direction of that city-owned house of fun - the Manoogian Mansion.
Located on Dwight Street in the Berry Subdivision Historic District, it was built in 1928 for $300,000, but the owner lost the home during the Depression. Masco Company founder Alex Manoogian purchased the home in 1939 and donated it to the city in 1966. The mansion is in Spanish Colonial Revival Style with a terra-cotta tile roof. It has approximately 4,000 square feet, and is dominated by walls of windows that open onto a spectacular view of the Detroit River. There is a large living room, library, kitchen, two dining rooms, four bedrooms, two small bedrooms for servants, three full baths, a servants’ bath and two half-baths.
I know what you’re thinking - it’s a pretty good place to throw a stripper party, right?
Rumor has it that Mayor Kilpatrick was thinking the same thing.
“They say” that in 2002, Kilpatrick threw a wild party involving strippers, one of whom was named Strawberry, a 27-year old exotic dancer also known as Tamara Greene. Everybody was having a good time until the mayor’s wife, Carlita Kilpatrick, came home unexpectedly and, upon discovering Kwame with the strippers, began to attack one of them (rumor has it that she attacked Greene).

Around 3:40 am, while sitting in her car with her boyfriend at the intersection of Roselawn and W. Outer Drive, Tamara Greene was shot 18 times with the same exact type of .40 caliber Glock handgun and bullets that are issued to Detroit police officers. The boyfriend was wounded, but was not shot at, even after the white Chevrolet TrailBlazer that the shooter(s) was in turned around and drove by a second time. This fact led Detroit Police Lt. Alvin Bowman to conclude that Greene was the only intended target.

This led to the theory that this was a “deliberate hit” by a member of the Detroit Police Department. Bowman is later transferred out of homicide.
Earlier that same month, Officer Harold C. Nelthrope contacted the internal affairs unit of the Detroit Police to have them investigate abuses by the mayor’s Executive Protection Unit (EPU). Mayor Kilpatrick called a press conference and said the party never happened and that he doesn’t ‘whore around’ on his wife. Shortly after, Nelthrope begins to fear for his life.
May, 2003
Nelthrope and Gary A. Brown, head of the Detroit Police Department’s internal affairs unit allege that they were fired by the administration in retaliation for investigating the mayor’s misconduct. An investigation by the attorney general Mike Cox and the State Police found no evidence that the party actually happened.
June, 2003
Nelthrope and Brown sued the city in what came to be known as the Whistleblower Trial.

I think everybody should just back off and leave Kwame alone he is entitled to a fair trial and you all are convicting him before the court has the chance too. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and should and can be heard, however, honestly all the man did was cheat on his wife. Is that really any of our business NO IT’S NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how would you like it if it were U and people , police and news were probing you. No I am not related too nor am I on his detail just a tired citizen that wishes Yall would leave this man and his family alone get a life. He’s young a yes he did some foolish things but, he has done so much for the city new develops, rehabbing neighborhoods , don’t be so quick to rush and criticize one day it may be U!!!!!!!!!

All he did was cheat on his wife? Are you kidding me? Yes, let’s forget about the misuse of city funds, the city he claims to have “done so much for”! The 9 Mil he stole from our citizens and our parks in order to cover up the cheating….let’s just put that off to the fact that he ONLY cheated on his wife. After all, according to Kwame, he long ago paid that back through his hard work right? This man is being investigated by the FBI for possibly funneling illegal deals through his dad and his various friends and family programs…but let’s not think about that. Because all he REALLY did was cheat on his wife right?
What he’s REALLY done is make some citizens of this city actually believe that a few new developments and rehabbed neighborhoods is the price you have to pay for being robbed blind by a corrupt network of shady politicians. What he’s REALLY done is make the city’s citizens believe that you actually have to have a trade off….you HAVE to have a lying no-good crap politician because that’s what you have to deal with to grow this city. People, we should be able to have both. A mayor who brings new development AND isn’t implicated in perjury, cheating and possibly even murder.
To say that all this man has REALLY done is cheated on his wife is to show just how good this man was at pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes. We are people going to stop sticking up for this thug? He is making fools of the very people he claims to care about so much, and those people are willingly playing the fool for him! It’s difficult to determine the most tragic piece to this play.

Kwame is a crook and a Liar. my mom, a property manager, rented apartments to Kwame for residency by his “cousins” alol of whom were young females! Kwame is a thug, and the reason that people in Detroit cannot get fair treatment by the authorities

Curiously Enough This seems to be a bigger business opportunity for Kwame;
since his speech is obviously the announcement of his intentions to go B I G.
how big, well I’m predicting DC Large; if he can shell out 1 Large on No Salary;
No Pension; No Law License and No Apparent Safety Net.
This man is deeper than most folks know; don’t y’all know He Get It From His Momma !
