My opinion is that Spitzer has a big problem. The reason guys get laid outside of the marriage is because their wife doesn’t provide adequately in the sexual desire area. His wife, evidently another “stand by your man” limp dishrag, has a big problem. She hasn’t satisfied his desires. Want marital fidelity? Communicate. Husbands and wives need to communicate about their sexual fantasies just like they communicate about their kids, their money, etc. If they can’t come to agreement then they need to get a 3rd party (counselor) involved in that area.

I think if Spitzer had any brain cells working functionally he would have divorced his wife before going out and paying for std’s which he propbably has, and hopefully his wife doesnt have it.

I disagree doug.. his wife may have been a dynamo, but men are genetically programmed to seek variety in their sex lives. The only anitvirus is self control, which he lacks in addition to judgement.

It’s easy for a women to get upset over this but the truth is Men are Mars! Myself in a 13 yr relationship with a 50yr old women who has said she has lost her desire in the bedroom. She never had children and has excersized everyday since a teenager. This has been going on for years and drags her feet to do something about it! I don’t push the topic obviously since it has been going on for so long! The thing is, we are good business partners when it comes to managing our business and do we give up the security of 2 incomes when the future of social security and rising inflation looks grim! We are creatures of habit and don’t adjust to change well and relationships is at the top of the list! In Spitzer’s defense, I bet 90% of the male population has been unfaithful to thier partner. Men are wired differently and we will always fantasize,dream and look at beautiful women around us. There is no good answer accept he got caught and should resign! Be careful next time Spitzer!

I can’t believe what Doug wrote. It’s HER fault he went out looking for God only knows what? Has Doug never been on the receiving end of a lie? I hope you’re never deceived, betrayed or hurt the way she has been hurt.. and publicly too. I also hope in that moment, your lowest.. that someone doesn’t say it’s your fault. I hope you never experience that.. it sucks.

four years and I just get sick when I hear another man has done something like
this. If I could ask God one question it would be why are men the way they are?

This type of problem is not solved by election. We didn’t see the governor, who calls himself the “steamroller” of crime, ruining his relations with his wife, reputation, and political judgements from the start otherwise we wouldn’t have elected him. The problem is simply the responsibility of the emperor’s club VIP website. Sure Spitzer became and adulterer and a bad representative but prostitution, the “oldest profession”, is the cause. They need to clean up what our children, and politicans, are capable of doing from the start.

toby - you obviously live in a fantasy land, where the only way a man can cheat is with a prostitute. There are whole websites out there for people who want to cheat, look up Ashley Madsen… there are services you can purchase who will make it appear that you have a hotel reservation, a conference to go to, a new golf buddy. And let’s not forget that it isn’t just men who cheat. If 18% of all children born into a marriage could not possibly be the child of the husband (based on blood typing alone! DNA would bring it up to 25%+) then I think that women have some explaining to do as well. The truth is, couples do need better communication skills, but they also need better marriage skills. And having those difficult conversations before you get married makes it much more likely that you’ll make it to a 50 year anniversary. In the case of Spitzer’s wife, she should divorce him, and he should hand her over all the marital assets!
That’s the price you should pay for playing around.

Only Islam is the answer. People mock about 4 wives. In the Quran God describes the nature of men and women. He has solidified a COMPLETE way of life addressing all aspects of being a human. There are men who will be totally content with one woman and men whom one women is a start. In the predecessors to the Quran..the Bible and Torah…How many Prophets and Messengers of God had multiple wives? It is only manmade laws that begin this “one wife” fiasco. Cheating, HOMOsexual acts(via vows of chastity), and other abberations occur when you deny the body what is was designed for. Do not let a biased media (nor blind “patriotistm”..i.e. ignorance) deter you from learning the truth about Islam. A man is a man.

What is this “genetically programmed” bull? We are not apes. We are intelligent human beings. Apes actions are determined by genetic programming. Human being’s actions are determined by intellect. We have control over our behavior. Doug was absolutely right. Fewer marriages would end in divorce and more people would be “happy” whatever that means if they had the courage to talk to each other openly about how they feel about things.
