You probably know by now that OddCulture loves to discover foreign cuisine, whether it’s where to eat in Taipei or what’s in a vending machine in Zagreb. Today’s Wall Street Journal Iraq blog tells the story of an Iraqi coming to America and discovering American food.
After getting over the initial horror that we have dogs in our house, that it’s hard to ensure everyday food on the menu is 100% halal, etc, Sarmad Ali starts to experiment. He starts out with pizza and canned tuna, and later discovers the wonders of sushi and Indian food (two of my personal favorites, actually).
Interesting tale. I only wish he’d shared some Iraqi recipes with us.
