Live Free or Die Hard (except in Europe)

Written by Bill G on June 18th, 2007 in Movies, culture.

Thanks to Brussels Journal:

This is the USA Poster for the fourth Die Hard movie:
Live Free or Die Hard

Apparently, the whole “Live Free or Die” motto (from New Hampshire) is too edgy for a European audience. This is how the film is being marketed across the Atlantic:

Die Hard 4.0

Perhaps it is thought that the American title is a little too “American” for the people in Europe. But then again, the Die Hard movies have (to me) always been uniquely American. Even the villains in the first and third movies were blatantly European.

Still not crazy about the PG-13 rating though.
