The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky

I first heard about El Topo from a friend of mine who was living in North Carolina at the time. When I finally saw the movie, it blew my mind. At the time it was some grainy shitty bootleg copy.

Thank God for companies like Anchor Bay.

A new DVD boxed set, entitled simply The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky is to be released on May 1, 2007.

We finally get the cult films El Topo and The Holy Mountain, along side previously issued Fando Y Lis and La Cravate, Jodorowsky’s first movie.

El Topo

Some of his other movies aren’t in the pack, but you can still get most of them separately (Santa sangre, for example).

I am told that The Holy Mountain is his masterpiece. I suppose I shall find out soon…
