BUCKLEY, Wash. A high school teacher who allegedly had sex with one of her students has been fired and charged with two felonies. White River High School physical education and health teacher Rebekah Todd is expected to be arraigned in Pierce County Superior Court June 15 on one count of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor. The alleged victim in the case is a 17-year-old football player. Todd is about 25.
The incident is not the first time Todd’s conduct has been the subject of attention. She was suspended for allegedly drinking with students at an off-campus graduation party last June, but was reinstated because there was no proof the incident occurred. She was suspended once again last December after showing a strip tease video to her female students. “It was very outrageous when we heard about his video. She actually showed this video as a reward for them doing well in her class,” said PTSA President Megan Hernandez.
Todd began teaching in 2004 at the age of 23 and was considered cool and hip by students at the school.

Southeast Kansas teacher Marcy Mote faces child sex charge:
A Christian school teacher has been charged with having sex with a 14-year-old girl who was her student.
Marsha J. Mote, 37, of Tyro, turned herself in Tuesday and made an initial appearance in Montgomery County District Court on a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. She was released on $20,000 bond. Mote was a teacher at Tyro Community Christian School. Her husband, Kevin, is associate pastor at Tyro Christian Church and has taken a leave of absence because of the allegations. Before being charged, Mote resigned her position as teacher. She also has stopped participating in church youth volunteer programs.

Tyro Christian pastor David Bycroft said he learned about the allegations two days later.
Wonder what her husband Kevin thinks of this. Maybe he can clear some appointment space for her in his office. Interesting to note that photos of Marcy Mote are no longer available at Tyro Christian Church. Just like when Adam and Eve hid their nakedness from God because they were ashamed! History repeats!

Former Wythe County teacher Karen Susan Patton convicted of sex crimes:

A former Wythe County teacher was convicted of three sex crimes on Monday afternoon. Karen Susan Patton entered no contest pleas in a Wytheville courtroom and a judge found her guilty. Patton was convicted of two counts of carnal knowledge and one count of non-forcible sodomy. The charges involve two different children who were once Patton’s students at Scott Memorial Middle School. Patton faces up to 25 years in prison and a more than $200,000 fine when she’s sentenced in June.
Patton resigned from her job as an English teacher and cheerleading coach at Wytheville’s Scott Memorial Middle School in January 2006 after she was charged with having oral sex with a 13-year-old student. She was arrested after the boy’s parents discovered a letter she allegedly had written the boy and online instant messages and e-mails between them. Apparently, her screen name was hokie_patton. That’s hokey, alright.

Teacher and Principal’s Wife Carrie McCandless Has Affair With Student:
A former Brighton Charter school teacher facing charges of sexual assault on a student waived her preliminary hearing Thursday. Carrie McCandless, 28, carried on a romance with a 17-year-old student at Brighton Charter School, according to her arrest affidavit. The affair included 76 text messages from her to the student in a single day, an arrest affidavit alleged.
McCandless is married to the principal of the high school and was fired from her job as teacher and cheerleader coach. She faces felony charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The second charge involves allegations she provided alcohol during a school trip to the Estes Park area last October. McCandless is due in back court on April 24 for a for a status hearing or disposition of both charges.

Clay says this had changed his life at school. “Well at first it was all high fives and stuff like that. Yea a lot of my guy friends were, showed (me) a lot more respect I guess. And then as we got further into it, I mean, I lost a lot of friends I had at that school.” Clay added later in the interview that many of the teachers at the school have been very supportive.
Supportive, yes. Because, look at her. As they said on that one South Park episode: Niiiiicce. And gee, the Today Show is interested. Of course, they are! You think they’re gonna be interested in Karen Susan Patton? What is ya, crazy?

In regards to the Mote issue, the reason they took the photo off of the internet is because democratic media types like yourself look for the photo to post it on your trashy website. If you have nothing better to do than to sit around and look for photo’s of these people that were involved in these crimes, then you are part of the problem and not the solution. I’m not condoning what Mote did in any way, and it was a terrible act. But since it has to do with a church and a christian school you are all over it. Adam and Eve hid themselves from God because they realized what they had done was wrong and they were ashamed. Yes Mote realized what she had done was wrong and was ashamed. If you weren’t provided with a picture of Mote then you had no right to Google her name and look for a picture on the internet. I know, I know freedom of speech and all that, gives you that right. How would you feel if this was your family member, would you still post it on your site or would you hide the story from the rest of the world. I bet it would not be posted on your site anyway.

Why go looking for a picture of her family to post anyway? Marcy did this not her family so air your own dirty laundry and post a picture of your own family if you want and leave them alone.
Also, why the Adam and Eve stuff? Everone is so willing and ready to turn this into a religious and social debate when we should just focus on what is important right now and to me that is the healing process for these families and the community.
And the comment about Kevin clearing appointment space for her? If it were you or a member of your family I often wonder how many of you would like it if people starting posting pictures and making snide comments about members of your family? These mean spirited statements towards Marcy and Kevin are cheap shots. They are also innappropriate and undeserving.
It’s wrong for anyone to post a picture of someone that has their young minor children included in the picture in a situation like this. How sad for the children, as if they aren’t going through enough as it is.
I guess some of these trashy websites have no class at all

by the way what I said earlier still stands. Also I must say that I am Motes brother. I have read several of these blogs and I am saddened and disgusted. One blog even had a comment from my older sister’s ex-husband spouting lies about their divorce, which I mean who cares about that. It also listed my full name and where I work which also was not relevant. This same blog went so far as to speculate that my father molested my sister (Mote). That did not happen. We grew up in a happy home and sure we had our problem like anyone does, but we always got through them. I know that my father did not molest my sister’s or me. So in essence this is why I call your site trashy, it’s not just your site but most of the blogs I have read. Mote is trying to overcome this black stain on her life. In the small community from which we live though it is tough because everybody wants to gossip about it as though it was any of their business.
So OddCulture I ask you this if this was your sister could you just sit back and watch her get torn to shreds in the media. Yes I am disgusted by what she did and I don’t condone it. It even took me a while to talk to her after this happened. But I still love her because she is my sister. You ask do I think she should be punished the answer is “yes, I do”. But I think that should be left up to the justice officials to do. It is not your place or the place of the other trash sites to punish her. I agree with the other poster on here that you should not have included a photo of her family especially her children (my neices). They did nothing wrong other than having a mother with a problem. As for taking pot shots at my brother in law, you don’t even know him. I’m sure if I saw a picture of you I could rip you apart just the same, yet again I would not stoop to your level of degredation. That being said I know that you will repost some snide remark or comeback, and I will look to see what you say, but I will not repost anything else on here.

OMG! That Karen Patton is sure one ugly pig! That face would ruin any kid’s life forever. Her breath probably smells like a cow’s bunghole!
