It just dawned on me that the beginning of 24 season six pretty much steals the plot of Die Hard: With A Vengeance.
Terror attacks, check.
Bad guy responsible for attacks wants revenge on the guy who killed his brother, check.
Good guy stops bad guy from setting off a bomb on a subway train, check.
Too bad 24 doesn’t take place in NYC. I’d like to see a scene where Jack Bauer accidentally bumps into John McClane at the subway station. “Hey John!” “Hey Jack!”
Naturally, Fox runs both franchises.
If you want to go further back, remember the Chuck Norris movie Invasion U.S.A.? Lots of terrorist attacks in that one too, and bad guy Richard Lynch wanted revenge on Norris’ Matt Hunter character (former CIA man).
