Question:

Did Comedy Central really decide to censor an image of Mohammed, or was that scene (or “missing” scene) a deliberate decision by Matt Stone and Trey Parker?

If Comedy Central really did decide not to show a cartoon depiction of Mohammed, then shame on them, and kudos to S.P.’s creators for tearing them a new asshole.

As far as Family Guy is concerned, their satire is dead-on - none of the jokes in Family Guy make any sense (manatees, indeed!), and I’ll go one step further - they aren’t funny. The jokes in Family Guy rely on your knowledge of pop culture, and that’s all. That’s the problem, you see - the creators of Family Guy think that your knowledge of television and movies is enough to constitute a “joke” - it’s what I call the Goldmember disease. There are no layers - jokes never leave “level one”, and level one looks pretty damn flat to me.
